Tea Sommelier for Hospitality
The UKTA is delighted to announce a NEW in-person course designed for the hospitality industry.
Tea Sommelier for Hospitality will run over 3 days at the Corinthia Hotel, London.
Friday 8 November to Sunday 10 November 2024
9.30am - 5pm each day
Price: £1750 + VAT (Total: £2,100)
This lively, interactive course will cover the knowledge required to fully understand and experience the six categories of tea as well as the practical brewing skills needed to serve all teas at their best.
This course will help build confidence in identifying and talking about many different teas and equip learners with the language to engage customers in compelling taste descriptions and recommended tea and food pairings.
As well as a brief overview of the history and culture of tea, we cover harvesting and production in the major tea-producing countries, brewing and tasting over 30 teas from around the world. We explore the unique compounds in the tea leaf and bust the myths around health benefits. There will be quizzes, blind tastings and guest speakers.
The Tea Sommelier certificate is achieved through a combination of multiple choice questions, tutor assessment of practical brewing and a mini group presentation.
This course is designed for those working in the hospitality industry, but is open to all. There are no entry requirements but completion of our online self-study introductory tea theory course is recommended. Access to this course will be given for free upon enrolling in Tea Sommelier for Hospitality.
